Local attractions
Pool House is ideally situated to visit the Cathedral City of Hereford which has many places of interest, including Hereford Cathedral which houses the world famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, The Old House in High Town, and the Cider Museum.
The historic towns of Ludlow, Leominster, Ledbury, Hay on Wye and Ross on Wye are within 45 minutes drive of Pool House, and have much to offer the visitor to this area. There is also the black and white village trail which includes the north Herefordshire villages of Eardisley, Eardisland, Pembridge and Weobley. There are two National Trust properties nearby, Berrington Hall and Croft Castle, plus the Weir Gardens - all worth a visit.
There are several vineyards of note locally, the nearest being Broadfield Vineyard which offers free wine tastings, and serves excellent light lunches, it also has beautiful gardens and vineyards.
For those who appreciate beautiful gardens there are Hampton Court Gardens, Hergest Croft and Stocktonbury Gardens to mention just a few.
There are several golf courses in the area, horse-riding, fishing, walking and of course, horse-racing at the racecourses of Hereford, Ludlow and Chepstow.
